Esther Chan, Of Counsel

Esther Chan is an Of Counsel attorney for Alley Law and primarily works at the Los Angeles County office. She has been with the firm since 2017 and advises clients in the areas of estate planning, trust administration, and probate.

Esther is a graduate of Southwestern Law School and is admitted to the California bar. While at Southwestern she received the Annual Public Interest Law Award for her outstanding dedication to make an impact to the underserved population. She was part of the Children’s Rights Clinic, Street Law Clinic and the Immigration Law Clinic while at Southwestern. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a specialization in International Relations with Global Studies and Asian American Studies minors from the University of California – Los Angeles. She was also on the Dean’s List while at UCLA.

Prior to Alley Law, Esther worked as Staff Attorney at the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (CAST-LA), a nonprofit dedicated to provide legal remedies to human trafficking survivors. Her other experiences include: Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP, the Children’s Law Center, Goldfarb & Luu, and externing for a judge at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

As a former legal aid attorney, Esther is intimately aware of the need for greater education about the legal process and is passionate about making a difference by knowing that her clients’ wishes will be honored whenever they need to use their estate planning documents. Esther loves working with clients, connecting with them, and helping them and their families plan for life’s uncertainties.

In her free time she enjoys traveling, running with her dog Starfox, and showing her daughter the world.
